Welcome to the page for the adjoining pub, "Miss Marple's."
If you walk through the connecting corridor past our kicker at Astarix, you arrive at our smoking pub; established in 1994, it has since become known—above all—for its extensive whiskey selection. You can discover nearly 39 different whiskeys here. The food and drink menu is otherwise the same as Astarix's, except that here you can enjoy an even wider selection of cocktails, including four non-alcoholic options.

Jazz Session
A Jazz Session takes place on the last Thursday of every month in our "Miss Marple's" smoking area. It is a meeting place for members of the Jazz Club Trier and music lovers. After the summer break, the first Jazz Session is on September 25, 2025.

Info for musicians: An electric piano, a drum set, microphones, and guitar/bass amps are available on-site—so no unnecessary hauling of gear is required.
Anyone coming to the session bringing sheet music for their favorite piece(s) can be sure to find fellow musicians to play it for them (remember that there are transposing instruments, so it is best to bring the desired number in C, Bb, and Eb!). Otherwise, you should always have a Real Book in your bag.
It is important for the Club to mention that the sessions are not intended for individual self-promotion or to have the character of a concert. Instead, they are a forum we provide for all jazz musicians to do what we all like best in a relaxed atmosphere: playing (and learning) jazz music.
Open Mic
Once a month on Wednesdays, we host an Open Mic hosted by comedian Latoya. With advance registration, musicians, poetry slammers, stand-up artists, etc., can put their talents to the test.
Entry is free, as with every event. Miss Marple's is smoke-free for this event so that artists of all ages can participate. Information: Art is allowed to do a lot; art should achieve a lot; it should provoke and encourage thought—but it is not allowed to do everything. It should ensure a lovely evening with us where all participants, guests, staff, and artists feel comfortable. Therefore, there is no place in this event (nor, of course, in Astarix and Miss Marple's generally) for right-wing extremism, body shaming, (sexualized) violence, homophobia, or other hurtful behavior.

1. Performance Fee: Since Miss Marple’s never charges an admission fee—and never will (culture should be accessible to everyone)—we can only offer earnings from the "hat" (tips/donations) plus complimentary refreshments (drinks and food—the food is the same as at Astarix) for the duration of the evening.
2. Performance Time: On weekends, the performance must end by 10:00 PM or 10:30 PM at the latest, as we have a neighbor with a child living directly above the venue who frequently complains if it gets too loud. The venue opens at 7:00 PM, and staff are usually on-site from 6:00 PM; you are welcome to arrive from that time onwards for setup, soundcheck, etc.
3. Equipment We have the following system: Yamaha STAGEPAS 400BT plus 2 microphones and matching stands (including boom stands).
4. Stance We do not support any music that leans towards the political right, nor do we play music by problematic bands (such as Rammstein, Frei.Wild, and—for the past two years—Feine Sahne Fischfilet). Our pub holds a left-wing, humanitarian outlook. Sexism, homophobia, racism, transphobia, etc., have no place here—and never will!
5. Promotion Subject to prior agreement, the posters will be created either by the manager of Miss Marple’s (Mareike) or by the band itself. Miss Marple’s handles the printing of the posters. Naturally, the event will be promoted via the Miss Marple’s Instagram page (collaborations are welcome).
6. GEMA We (Mareike) register the events with GEMA and cover the associated costs; bands simply need to provide their setlist afterwards, even if the songs are GEMA-exempt.
7. Accommodation Unfortunately, we are unable to provide accommodation; however, for groups of up to 2–3 people, staying with staff members may be an option (provided there are no issues with cats).
